Sheriff Steve Boyer posses a high level of education, training, and experience making him an ideal candidate for re-election to the office of Kitsap County Sheriff.

Kitsap County Sheriff, 1998 to present:   

The chief law enforcement officer of Kitsap County is the Sheriff. The Sheriff must prepare and execute an annual budget that exceeds $27 million. The Sheriff is responsible for over 250 employees. The Sheriff provides primary safety and security to the 70% of Kitsap County citizens who live in unincorporated areas.  An effective sheriff requires the mind of a street cop and the management skills of a CEO.

Sheriff Steve Boyer has accumulated seven plus years of experience as Kitsap County’s Sheriff. Sheriff Boyer manages the deputy patrol, jail services, SWAT team, Search and Rescue, and the Marine Patrol. Sheriff Boyer has adapted his department to the changing requirements of modern law enforcement including anti-terrorist activities, anti-drug enforcement, and domestic violence intervention. Sheriff Boyer has set and enforced tough professional standards and new levels of accountability among his staff. Most importantly, Sheriff Boyer has maintained rigorous integrity and uncompromising honesty to lead by example.
